Marketing consultant in León

Marketing consultant
in León.

I work as a marketing, compliance and digitalisation consultant with in-person support in León and its province. León is undergoing a profound transformation: an agri-food sector of very strong identity (cecina cured beef, cured meats, pulses, wines of Bierzo and Prieto Picudo), a growing cybersecurity cluster around INCIBE and the University, and mining districts in the midst of a just transition with European funds to reinvent themselves. My work is to ensure that this identity and this new digital economy translate into brand, lead generation and a regulatory compliance that opens markets.

My work is to ensure that this identity and this new digital economy translate into brand, lead generation and a regulatory compliance that opens markets.

Bierzo and provincial agri-food: identity that sells

León has one of the strongest agri-food identities in Spain: cecina cured beef, cured meats, pulses, Bierzo peppers, the wines of Bierzo and Prieto Picudo, increasingly geared towards distribution and exports. Agri-food is one of the strategic sectors of Castile and León and a key agent of territorial cohesion through its presence in rural areas.

For these companies, marketing means product and designation branding: storytelling of origin, labelling, e-commerce and communication that defends the value of all things León without lapsing into cliché. I design strategies that connect the product's real quality (often with a quality mark or PGI, Protected Geographical Indication) with the right channel, from large-scale distribution and hospitality to direct sales to the end consumer.

León, a cybersecurity cluster: an opportunity few exploit

León has positioned itself as one of Spain's leading cybersecurity clusters, thanks to the headquarters of INCIBE (the National Cybersecurity Institute) and the Cybersecurity Chair at the University of León, which throughout 2025 have driven training, courses on artificial intelligence and research projects. The cybersecurity sector in Spain aims to grow by around 6% a year, with León a key piece of that growth.

For the technology and security companies orbiting this ecosystem, marketing means expert positioning and qualified lead generation: rigorous technical content, a credible brand, a presence in the sector's forums and a website that conveys solidity to clients and public bodies. This is a field where reputation and the demonstration of technical competence decide the contract.

Just transition: the mining basins reinvent themselves

León is facing the closure of mining and power plants with an energy economy in transition. The just-transition zones of Bierzo-Laciana and Montaña Central de León-La Robla are receiving European funds to revive: León will draw more than 176 million euros from the Just Transition Fund to revive its mining basins, with lines to modernise and diversify the productive fabric.

For the entrepreneurs and SMEs being born or reinvented in the warmth of these funds, I bring something concrete: helping a fundable project tell its value proposition well, have a brand and a website worthy of it, and fit marketing and digitalisation within the investment plan. A good grant poorly communicated does not generate a market; what sells is the business behind it, well explained.

Regulatory compliance: GDPR, ISO and ENS to sell to the administration

In an environment carrying so much weight in cybersecurity and public procurement, compliance is directly a competitive advantage. For a company that wants to work with the administration or with large clients: real legal texts and a properly resolved GDPR, and a path towards ISO 27001 (information security), ISO 9001 (quality) or the ENS (Spain's National Security Framework), practically mandatory for providing services to public bodies. In León's cybersecurity ecosystem, showing that you practise what you preach on the security of your own data is part of the sales argument. I set it out in phases, with documentation that is genuinely used.

Digitalisation with grants: Kit Digital, Kit Consulting and transition funds

I support the digitalisation of León SMEs through Kit Digital (website, e-commerce, social media management, cybersecurity, electronic invoicing) and Kit Consulting (advice on strategy, artificial intelligence or cybersecurity), which fit especially well in León given the territory's bet on all things digital. In the just-transition districts, moreover, it is worth coordinating these grants with the specific revival funds so that the plan is coherent. The aim is not to spend the voucher, but to build real capability. It is worth checking the deadlines of each call on official sources before committing.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you work in person in León?+

Yes. I work in person across León and its province, including the Bierzo district, as well as working remotely with the rest of Spain and with the Canary Islands. For new projects I usually combine an initial in-person meeting with remote follow-up.

I have a León agri-food product. What does marketing bring me?+

Differentiation and brand value. León has a very strong agri-food identity (cecina cured beef, cured meats, pulses, the wines of Bierzo and Prieto Picudo), often with a quality mark or PGI. I work on storytelling of origin, labelling, e-commerce and communication geared towards distribution, hospitality and direct sales, defending the value of all things León without lapsing into cliché.

Do you work with cybersecurity or technology companies?+

Yes. León is a growing cybersecurity cluster thanks to INCIBE and the University of León's Chair. For these companies I work on expert positioning, a credible brand and qualified lead generation with rigorous technical content, alongside exemplary compliance on your own data, which in this sector is part of the sales argument.

My project benefits from the just transition. How do you help me?+

León is drawing more than 176 million from the Just Transition Fund to revive its mining basins. I help a fundable project tell its value proposition well, have a brand and a website worthy of it, and fit marketing and digitalisation within the investment plan. A poorly communicated grant does not generate a market; what sells is the business well explained.

Why are ISO 27001 or the ENS important in León?+

Because of the weight of cybersecurity and public procurement. The ENS is practically mandatory for providing services to public bodies, and ISO 27001 demonstrates that you manage information security well. In a cybersecurity ecosystem, practising what you preach on your own data is part of the commercial argument. I set it out in phases.

How does your work in León differ from that in Valladolid or Salamanca?+

The regulatory framework of Castile and León is shared, but the fabric changes. León combines agri-food identity, a cybersecurity cluster and the just transition of the mining basins; Valladolid carries weight in automotive; Salamanca, in the university and life sciences. I adapt the strategy to the reality of each city; I do not apply a template.
